A gift of the arts

Following Monday's Board of Trustees meeting, I was invited to attend the official ground-breaking ceremony for The Donahue Center for the Creative and Applied Arts.

The building is named for Lasell alumna Nancy Lawson Donahue '49, trustee emerita who, along with her husband Richard, gave the lead gift for the creation of the new building.

The center will house state-of-the-art classrooms, faculty offices and will become the permanent home for the Lasell College Fashion Collection. Donahue and her family, have been major supporters of the College, providing funding for the Donahue Institute for Values and Public Life and the Donahue Bookstore.
